| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2013 | 2014 |
In 2013, NAV CANADA implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as an ERP Financial application. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment focused on consolidating core finance functions and asset accounting for NAV CANADA's finance organization in Ottawa, aligning transaction processing and statutory reporting capabilities with IFRS requirements.
The implementation included configuration and lifecycle support for General Ledger, Payables, iExpense, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Order Management, Inventory, and eBusiness Tax. A specific project deliverable was the implementation of new Asset Books to support the transition from GAAP to IFRS, which involved requirements gathering, data conversion, test development and execution, and capability transfer to business users.
Architecture and operational integration work addressed Finance Integrations to connect transactional feeds into Oracle E-Business Suite, and preparatory work for an Oracle upgrade from 11.5.9 to 12.1.3 was performed to reduce customizations and cleanse master data such as vendor and customer addresses. The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation therefore included both application configuration and upgrade readiness activities to standardize finance interfaces.
Governance and operationalization emphasized capability transfer, end user documentation, test artifacts and post go-live support models, with business analyst ownership for requirements, testing and training materials. NAV CANADA staff contributed implementation learnings to industry forums, including an OAUG presentation on options and implications for implementing new Asset Books and IFRS reporting within Oracle E-Business Suite.

In 2018 NAV CANADA implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday Phase 1 program. The deployment targeted Absence and Leave Management capabilities alongside recruitment and benefits functionality within the enterprise Workday footprint.
The implementation included configuration and lifecycle support for Workday Absence Management, with business analyst ownership for requirements gathering, test development and execution, and end user documentation. Functional activities covered absence plan definition, leave request and approval workflows, absence accrual rules, and configuration of entitlement and eligibility logic consistent with Absence and Leave Management best practices.
Integrations were scoped to align absence processes with core HR, payroll, compensation, recruitment and benefits modules within the Workday ecosystem, ensuring record continuity across HR and payroll functions. Operational coverage focused on HR, payroll and benefits teams, with the lead business analyst providing capability transfer and post go live support to those departments.
Governance and rollout centered on formal handover and capability transfer, including creation of end user documentation for training and ongoing post go live support. The program emphasized structured testing, documented configuration, and sustained lifecycle support for Absence and Leave Management within NAV CANADA’s Workday environment.

| Indra Sistemas | Legacy | iTEC SkyNex | Airport Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024, NAV CANADA adopted iTEC SkyNex from Indra Sistemas in an Airport Management deployment as part of joining the iTEC Alliance. This agreement expands the alliance footprint and positions NAV CANADA to operate iTEC SkyNex alongside other air navigation service providers across a unified operational technology layer.
The implementation centers on iTEC SkyNex capabilities to enable Trajectory-Based Operations, precise trajectory calculation, and extended horizon flight progress management. iTEC SkyNex is configured to provide a comprehensive view of flights from take-off to landing, with planning and clearance orchestration functions that support collaborative decision making and greater data accuracy in air traffic management workflows.
Operationally the deployment is being integrated across alliance partner control centres, extending iTEC SkyNex to a total of 27 control centres in eight countries and covering roughly 26 million square kilometres of partnered airspace. The system is described as enabling end-to-end and transoceanic operations using the same technology across North America and Europe, which aligns NAV CANADA operations with the Alliance s common technology stack and cross-border traffic management processes.
Governance for the rollout is anchored in the iTEC Alliance cooperative model, with NAV CANADA joining existing partners to share development, costs, and know-how while pursuing interoperability between air navigation service providers. The signing formalizes collaborative development pathways, and NAV CANADA is positioned to contribute to evolving iTEC SkyNex features and the phased extension of services into Canadian airspace.
Explicit outcomes stated for the iTEC SkyNex Airport Management implementation include enabling the introduction of Trajectory-Based Operations into Canada, improving planning and efficiency, increasing data accuracy, optimizing flight paths and resources, and reducing delays, CO2 emissions, and operational costs. iTEC SkyNex will be the common ATM system managing flights across much of the same global routes, supporting more coordinated and sustainable air traffic management.
