| Sage | Legacy | Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2006 | 2007 |
In 2006, Navistar implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) to deliver ERP Financial capabilities for its finance and accounting organization. The deployment targeted internal business and IT system teams, with a primary focus on standardizing financial transaction processing, financial reporting, and compliance workflows across corporate finance functions.
The Sage Business Cloud X3 implementation encompassed core financial modules typical for ERP Financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, and centralized financial reporting and workflow controls. Configuration and automation work emphasized SDLC driven requirements, functional and design documentation, test planning, and scripted validation to meet corporate quality and control standards.
Integrations and data movement were a significant component of the program, leveraging relational database and SQL skills, Oracle 12.1.3 exposure, and data transfer methodologies such as FTP and SFTP. The project incorporated EDI and messaging concepts and used tools like SQL Star Loader type processes for batch data loads and reconciliations, and it interfaced with domain systems including TOLAS ERP and other application endpoints to support end to end financial processes.
Governance and operational controls were enforced through formal SDLC practices and Sarbanes Oxley compliance checks, with requirements authoring, test definition, oversight of testing, and coordinated change control for Production system events. Project execution included cross functional coordination with offshore and remote teams, scope definition, deliverable prioritization, installation validation, configuration activities during cutover, and monitoring during warranty periods to ensure adherence to control and release processes.
Operational scope centered on enabling Navistar finance and related business teams to be more cost effective, efficient, and customer focused through standardized ERP Financial processes. The implementation emphasized documentation driven design, rigorous testing, and formal change governance to align system behavior with corporate compliance and operational requirements.
