In 2015, NextGen Healthcare implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core ERP Financial platform. The deployment was led by the Senior Director, Business Applications and executed across all business groups, aligning enterprise-wide finance, sales and service processes.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and financial reporting. The program included deployment of FIORI for targeted business workflows to streamline time entry and reduce dependency on an external time entry system. Configuration emphasized centralized master data management and finance workflow orchestration consistent with ERP Financial operations.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment operated alongside Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Oracle CPQ Big Machines within a coordinated application portfolio, supporting consolidated CRM and CPQ workflows. The rollout retired five separate CRM systems and extended Service and CRM including Community across the organization, covering sales, service and customer engagement functions. Integrations prioritized transactional handoffs between SAP financial ledgers and upstream sales and service systems to support order to cash and related revenue workflows.
Governance was instituted through a center of excellence for business applications, a blended onshore and offshore staffing model and adoption of Agile methodology for rollouts and enhancements. The implementation team managed consultants and implementation partners, negotiated vendor contracts and controlled annual and project budgets. Reported outcomes include retirement of five CRM systems with annual savings of over $500,000, a FIORI-driven $89,000 decrease in third party time entry costs, completion of rollouts under budget and on time, and contract renegotiations yielding an additional 40 percent discounts.
