In 2016 Nicobar Design implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial system. The on-site deployment at Nicobar Design Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi, India was scoped to support retail store operations and corporate back office functions for a mid-market retailer with approximately 160 employees, with Microsoft Dynamics NAV supporting finance, sales, warehousing and LS-Retail point of sale workflows.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics NAV to cover Sales, Purchase, Warehouse, Finance and the LS-Retail module, with customizations developed for Navision 2016 and above. Workstreams included report creation, deletion and modification, functionality testing and deployment, programming NAV applications, and managing settings for user groups, aligning with standard ERP Financial master data, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows.
Technical architecture centered on SQL Server as the database platform and incorporated DB-to-DB and Web Services integration patterns, along with designed and built RESTful and SOAP web APIs for third party connectivity. The program included activities for version migration and upgrades between NAV releases, indicating an operational focus on release management and application lifecycle for Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Operational governance emphasized day-to-day support for stores and users, handling support calls, daily maintenance activities of the ERP, and ongoing end-user application support engagement. Business and process analysis was embedded in the rollout and support model, with testing, deployment procedures and user group governance formalized to sustain the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP Financial environment.
