In 2020, Nike implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform to centralize finance, planning, and reporting workflows. Nike SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial was positioned to support finance, planning, consolidation, and analytics use cases across corporate finance and FP&A functions.
The implementation explicitly included an SAP BPC upgrade project, upgrading BW from 7.4 to 7.5 and BPC to 10.1, with BPC used for planning and input templates. Configuration work covered input templates, business logic, allocations logic for cost centers, and revenue calculations, reflecting financial planning and consolidation capability within the overall SAP S/4 HANA deployment.
Data architecture and analytics were a core focus, using CDS views for direct live connection into SAP Analytics Cloud live reporting and data feeds into SAC models. Models were created using data acquisition from SAP HANA, SAP BW, SAP BPC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BO Universe, SQL, OData services, Microsoft Excel, and flat files, and live and import data connections were created and configured from the SAP S/4 HANA and BW4/HANA systems.
Operational implementation included development of BW data sources, staging DSO objects, process chains, and variables to support new data stream loads, plus extensive data modeling work such as custom hierarchies, custom calculations, groupings, and dimension design. Governance and workflow restructuring emphasized embedded analytics concepts and reuse of SAP standard analytical components, with process chains and data modeling artifacts used to operationalize financial reporting and planning data flows.

Configuration and design work focused on customized absence policies, entitlement calculations, approval routing, and automated workflows consistent with Absence and Leave Management capabilities. System testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing were executed, and structured end-user training was delivered to maximize adoption and proficiency.
Integration testing validated data exchange with core HR, payroll, and timekeeping systems, and the programme required coordination between IT teams and external consultants to ensure business rule enforcement and data integrity. A Workday Product Lead for Absence Management provided centralized oversight of the global implementation and managed stakeholder communication during an active governance window from August 2022 to May 2023.
Ongoing governance included support and maintenance of the Workday Absence Management module, issue remediation, and iterative policy configuration updates, with the product lead responsible for aligning system changes to compliance and operational requirements. Project documentation cited improved accuracy and compliance in absence processing as a direct outcome.

In 2015, Nike implemented SAP Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS) as a Retail Management application across its retail and supply chain operations. The SAP Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS) deployment was positioned to support merchandising, assortment planning, inventory visibility and store operations as core business functions.
Configuration centered on category-aligned AFS capabilities, including article and product master data, assortment and season planning, pricing and markdown management, inventory management and replenishment, and order to cash workflows. Implementation work emphasized master data governance, configuration of merchandising hierarchies and automation of replenishment and pricing rules consistent with Retail Management practices.
The implementation integrated with SAP-Retail and S4 HANA components and with warehouse management systems to synchronize inventory, fulfillment and distribution processes. Interfaces were designed to bring store point of sale and DC inventory updates into the SAP Apparel and Footwear environment, enabling coordinated replenishment and centralized stock visibility across retail and distribution sites.
Governance and rollout focused on phased adoption across merchandising, supply chain and store operations, with controlled change management for pricing and assortment changes. The program included a strong testing discipline, leveraging expertise in testing SAP AFS, SAP-Retail, S4 HANA and integrations with WM systems to validate end to end order, inventory and pricing workflows.
