In 2019, Norman's Hallmark implemented Sophos Xstream SD-WAN as part of a network rollout across dozens of retail locations in the United States. The deployment incorporated Sophos XG Firewall and Sophos Wireless to address in store wireless performance, coverage and network security for retail operations.
Sophos Xstream SD-WAN was used in the SD-WAN category to provide application aware path selection and centralized WAN orchestration, while Sophos XG Firewall supplied firewalling, intrusion prevention and advanced packet inspection. Sophos Wireless provided managed access point provisioning and RF coverage management to improve wireless user experience and store connectivity.
Net2 Technology Group served as the system integrator for the rollout, coordinating device provisioning, configuration templates and staged firmware updates across the store estate. Operational scope included store level IT and corporate network teams, with centralized policy orchestration and consistent security posture applied across all retail sites.
Governance changes emphasized standardized network and wireless policies, central management of security rules and consolidated monitoring for retail operations. Reported outcomes included simplified central management, better wireless user experience and stronger threat isolation for store networks, aligned to the deployed Sophos XG Firewall, Sophos Wireless and Sophos Xstream SD-WAN solution.
