In 2013, Ozark Independent Living implemented Gray Swan Amber CIL Manager to centralize revenue cycle operations. Gray Swan Amber CIL Manager, deployed as a Revenue Cycle Management application, became the primary system for processing attendant and consumer administrative workflows within the organization.
The implementation focused on timekeeping and Medicaid unit tracking modules, operationalizing timesheet intake, correction workflows, and charting for consumers and attendants. Quarterly reporting capabilities were configured to produce filings for the Department of Employment Security and the Department of Health and Senior Services, and monitoring workflows were established to support Medicaid fraud detection and coordination with Missouri Medicaid Audit and Compliance.
Integrations and operational interfaces were established with the organizations payroll company to support payroll processing, and the CIL implementation worked alongside systems named Amber, Emomed, Cyber Access and the organizations own database to exchange time and unit data. The system supported operational touchpoints with the Department of Employment Security, the IRS, and State of Missouri agencies for tax and unemployment benefit processes, enabling submission of required tax and unemployment information as part of revenue cycle operations.
Governance and operational changes included centralizing the Data Department of six employees under the application, formalizing timesheet correction and appointment scheduling workflows, and beginning a telephony system implementation to support outreach and route mapping. Staff also used the platform to compile documentation for compliance audits, attend CDS program conferences for policy alignment, and support legislative advocacy efforts in Jefferson City to represent consumer interests.
