In 2016, Packsize implemented Gallup Q12 to formalize Employee Engagement measurement and to anchor a suite of talent management initiatives. The implementation was driven from the Director of Learning and Development reporting to the CFO, supported by a five person talent management team, and coordinated with global HR leadership to align engagement work with leadership development, performance management, and development planning.
Gallup Q12 was used as the primary engagement survey instrument and was embedded into leadership development programming, including engagement plans and targeted initiatives for emerging and current leaders. The implementation linked Gallup Q12 survey outputs to competency management workflows, supporting development plans and a 9 box succession framework, and informed advanced leadership courses in project management, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
Operationally the Gallup Q12 deployment intersected with Packsize University, the companys global learning management system, and with new hire onboarding processes that included 90 day ramp plans. Engagement insights were surfaced to business leaders and used to prioritize learning interventions, monthly company webinars called Power Hour, and executive Lunch N Learns, extending Gallup Q12 influence across HR, learning, and leadership functions.
Governance for Gallup Q12 was centralized under talent management and aligned with the global performance management system to ensure goal alignment and leader assessment of team members. The broader programmatic investments included the Packsize University LMS which reduced training expense by 50 percent, and a competency platform to support career pathing and high potential identification, demonstrating tightly coupled engagement measurement, learning orchestration, and performance governance.
