MoneyLion Legacy MoneyLion RoarMoney Digital Banking ERP Services and Operations n/a 2020 2020
In 2020 Pathward partnered with MoneyLion to power MoneyLion RoarMoney, acting as the FDIC-insured sponsor bank for demand deposit accounts and debit card issuance in the United States. MoneyLion RoarMoney is a Digital Banking deployment that established core deposit, card issuing and payments capabilities for a consumer fintech product offering. The implementation delivered core deposit account processing, debit card provisioning and card issuance workflows, and payments orchestration consistent with Digital Banking functional patterns. Functional modules included demand deposit account lifecycle management, debit card issuance and activation, and payments settlement orchestration across card and ACH rails, with embedded operational controls for account servicing and transaction monitoring. Operational coverage centered on U.S. retail deposits and cardholder operations, with the sponsor bank relationship providing regulatory sponsorship and compliance alignment for consumer accounts. Governance was structured around bank-led oversight for deposit taking and payments, integrating Pathward as the regulatory sponsor while MoneyLion operated customer-facing product and engagement functions. The partnership was extended through 2029 to preserve product continuity and regulatory sponsorship, ensuring ongoing support for RoarMoney deposit and card services in the United States.
