In 2022, Peoples Group's Peoples Trust Company implemented CGI All Payments as a Payment Processing platform to modernize and digitize its payments systems. The implementation enabled Peoples Trust Company to become a direct participant in Canada’s Automated Clearing Settlement System ACSS and to expand retail and card-related payment services as part of its strategic growth plan.
The deployment was delivered with CGI using a cloud-enabled architecture, positioning CGI All Payments as the centralized payments engine for clearing and settlement, payment orchestration, and card processing workflows. Functional capabilities implemented included domestic clearing and ACSS connectivity, retail payments processing, card transaction handling, and settlement reporting consistent with Payment Processing operational patterns.
Integrations focused on direct participation in ACSS and on interoperation with Canadian payments rails to support expanded product offerings. Operational scope was Canada-based, with the platform servicing payments operations, card services, product management, treasury, and compliance functions within Peoples Trust Company.
Governance and rollout were executed jointly with CGI, moving payments control to a centralized payments operations model and establishing operational workflows required for direct ACSS participation in 2022. The program explicitly broadened Peoples Trust Company’s payments offering set and positioned CGI All Payments as the core Payment Processing solution supporting future product expansion.
