In 2020 PetVet Care Centers implemented Ceridian Dayforce Leave Management to centralize absence tracking and leave administration under its Absence and Leave Management program for more than 11,000 employees across over 465 United States hospitals. The Ceridian Dayforce Leave Management deployment focused on standardizing intake, eligibility determination, leave tracking, and compliance workflows for FMLA, ADA, short term disability, long term disability, personal leave, and military leave. Configuration work emphasized case management for Workers' Compensation and leaves, manager and HR role-based interfaces, automated leave request and approval workflows, documentation and audit trails, and leave entitlement and balance calculations. Reporting capabilities were configured to produce monthly and quarterly risk management and financial trend reports, and to capture ad hoc loss runs and claim data used by internal Risk Management and Benefits teams. Operational integration aligned Ceridian Dayforce Leave Management with PetVet’s Workers' Compensation third party administrator, aggregating claim and loss-run data from the TPA’s system to support case oversight and compliance reporting. The implementation supported cross-functional business functions including Benefits, Human Resources, Risk Management, and hospital management, and provided operational visibility for managers and employees across the company’s United States hospital footprint. Governance and process changes included establishing centralized leave and workers' compensation policies and procedures, instituting regular audits of leave and claims records, and formalizing the Manager, Workers' Compensation and Leaves role to oversee vendor relationships, claims oversight, and training. The rollout emphasized standardized communication, documented approval and denial workflows, and routine reporting to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local leave and workers' compensation regulations.
