The implementation configured core ERP Financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and financial reporting frameworks, along with cost accounting structures appropriate to a mid sized life sciences manufacturer. Configuration work included chart of accounts design and posting period controls to support routine financial close activities. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was used as the authoritative system for posting financial transactions and producing statutory and management reporting.
Operationally the system was used by analytical services staff to upload and implement changes on SAP, generate raw material and packaging material specifications and test methods, and maintain analytical cards. The deployment supported role based access and transactional workflows connecting laboratory document handling with purchasing and inventory finance touch points.
Governance and process changes focused on formalizing SOP management, approval workflows and the training matrix for users operating within the SAP environment. A Laboratory Administrator role was established to manage scanning, distribution and control of documentation, to maintain SOPs and training records, and to act as a conduit between analytical services and the finance organization. Ongoing operational ownership emphasized adherence to documented procedures and maintaining SAP records to support quality and financial compliance.
