In 2018, Pitney Bowes deployed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation was supported by an infrastructure modernization program that began in December 2018 and ran into mid 2019 to prepare hosting and partitioning for SAP application tiers across two data center sites.
The technical implementation centered on AIX server consolidation and logical partition engineering to host SAP application servers and database tiers. Engineering work included replacing five P770 frames with four P950 systems, creating new LPARs for web presence such as www.pb.com, and migrating 350 LPARs to the new P950 environment using Live Partition Mobility. Core system configuration tasks documented in the engagement included provisioning Virtual I O Servers, configuring Hardware Management Consoles, standardizing frame firmware and microcode levels, and establishing Shared Ethernet Adapter failover configurations.
Network and storage integration activities were executed to support SAP ERP ECC 6.0 production workloads, including physically connecting networks and SAN fabrics across both data centers, identifying existing VLANs and designing VIOS servers to preserve network segmentation, and configuring SEAs and SAN pathways to enable LPM. Backup topology and operational continuity work were coordinated with the backup team to implement Avamar based backup processes, and shell scripting was used to automate routine system maintenance and migration tasks.
Governance and rollout procedures emphasized coordinated change control between the SAP application team and infrastructure engineers, staged LPAR migrations, and firmware and storage orchestration to minimize service disruption during cutover windows. Operational responsibilities included maintaining and extending existing shell scripts, scripting bespoke backup integrations, and executing detailed LPAR build and migration runbooks to support ongoing ERP Financial operations.

| Oracle | Legacy | Siebel Field Service | Field Service Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2003 | 2004 |
In 2003 Pitney Bowes implemented Siebel Field Service to support Field Service Management across its field organization in the U.S., Europe and Canada, mobilizing a large technician workforce. The deployment positioned Siebel Field Service as the core application for routing and field CRM extension, with the implementation explicitly focused on parts and inventory control, service response workflows and equipment uptime management.
The Siebel Field Service implementation included field-oriented modules typical of Field Service Management systems, including work order management, scheduling and dispatch, parts and inventory control, and mobile workforce automation to support on-site service delivery. Configuration emphasized mobile transaction capture and offline data synchronization to enable technicians to access and update service and parts records while in the field.
Siebel Field Service was integrated with mobile vendors RPA Wireless and Antenna A3 to extend CRM capabilities into handheld devices and vehicle-mounted terminals, creating a connected architecture between centralized Siebel servers and distributed mobile clients. Operational coverage included field operations, parts logistics and service delivery teams across the three regions, with module usage and integration details documented in vendor and partner case material.
Governance and rollout centered on standardizing field service workflows and embedding mobile-enabled processes for technicians, with staged field rollouts aligned to regional operations. The implementation was intended to drive productivity and service quality improvements by centralizing service data in Siebel Field Service and delivering mobile access for field personnel.
