In 2018 Polyrey implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core transactional system to support manufacturing and finance, classified in the ERP Financial category. The implementation architecture centralized transactional data into the SAP environment, reintegrating application data into SAP IS and enabling live exchange with SAP ECC. Applications were delivered in web mode on SAP BTP microservices, which enabled thin client access to replace RDS accounts and allowed a shift away from heavy desktop dependencies. Polyrey also extended BTP-built tooling to a sample management application interfacing with the group Salesforce CRM, deployed to France, Germany and England, and to a thermocouple management tool completed at the end of 2023. Governance and operating model changes accompanied the technical work, with Polyrey IT evolving into an internal center of expertise on SAP BTP and taking operational ownership of development and lifecycle management. STMS remained the systems integrator partner in the co-creation and deployment phases, and new projects were planned for 2024 including an evolution of the impregnation solution and a tablet-based quality data entry application. Polyrey also signaled a longer term intent to evaluate a move to SAP S/4HANA that could be coordinated with the German business unit. Explicit outcomes reported by Polyrey include secured and modernized business applications, consolidation of industrial application data into a single SAP repository opening automation and reporting opportunities, more economical thin client access replacing RDS accounts, rapid delivery cycles for business apps measured in weeks to months, and a reduction in reliance on Microsoft Office templates through web application replacements that support faster amortization of development costs.
