In 2022 Popular Singapore implemented LS Retail Central as its primary Retail Management platform, initiating a broader modernization of point of sale and back office workflows. The deployment was anchored around LS Retail Central and Business Central 23, positioning the application as the Retail Management layer supporting POS, self checkout, and HQ operations.
The implementation included a code migration of Nav2009 artifacts to Business Central 23 and a comprehensive data migration strategy that emphasized data integrity and accuracy. Over 100 Nav2009 reports were upgraded to Business Central 23 within the LS Retail POS environment, and user specific Role Centers were designed and configured to align screen flows with retail job functions.
Functionality developed as part of the LS Retail Central rollout comprised a Gift Voucher management subsystem using web services to manage voucher states Transfer, Blocked, Sold, Redeemed, Extended, and a complementary LS Retail web service to verify voucher status against the HQ database. A payment integration module for NETS credit card machines was created by customizing the LS Retail dynamic link library and implementing the DLL in C#, and the Nav2009 Self Checkout system was migrated into the Business Central 23 environment to preserve operational continuity.
Governance and rollout emphasized staged modernization of reporting and transactional components, with technical ownership focused on service oriented web endpoints, DLL based payment adapters, and Role Center driven user governance. The program notes a seamless transition and continued functionality across POS and HQ systems, with data migration and report modernization executed to maintain operational accuracy.
