In 2015 Precision Castparts integrated Procurement Purchase Order Cost Distributions into Oracle OBIA 7.9.6.4 Financial Analytics. Precision Castparts Oracle OBIA Analytics and BI work targeted finance and procurement reporting to centralize purchase order cost allocation and cost distribution visibility within the existing OBIA environment.
The implementation extended the Oracle OBIA Financial Analytics application by adding data feeds and configured mappings for Procurement Purchase Order Cost Distributions, aligning those feeds with OBIA subject areas and the enterprise data warehouse schemas. Configuration activities focused on ETL mappings, data quality checks, and load schedules to ensure PO cost distribution rows reconciled with financial subject areas inside Oracle OBIA.
Integrations included the Procurement Purchase Order Cost Distributions data pipeline and the addition of Active Directory Authentication and Authorization into the OBIA security realm. Active Directory was bound to the Security Realm to provide centralized authentication and to map AD groups to application roles for authorization, enabling role based access control for the OBIA Financial Analytics artifacts.
Governance changes centered on security and access controls within the OBIA deployment, with Security Realm updates and role mappings to incorporate AD based authentication and authorization. The deployment remained within the Oracle OBIA 7.9.6.4 instance and impacted finance and procurement workflows by surfacing PO level cost distribution data in the Financial Analytics application and enforcing AD governed access.
