In 2005, PSEG implemented Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable as an AP Automation solution to centralize vendor payment and invoice processing across its finance organization. Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable was configured to align with the company finance stack, operating alongside AR, AP and GL domains to streamline invoice capture and payment execution.
The implementation included configuration of accounts payable workflows and payment orchestration, covering automatic payment programs, payment advices, vendor master and bank master maintenance, and invoice processing and approval controls. The team configured supporting finance capabilities such as withholding tax handling, foreign currency valuation, intercompany AP posting, and Fixed Assets reconciliation to maintain accounting integrity.
Operational integrations tied Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable into existing Procure to Pay touch points, including FI integration with MM, MIGO and MIRO transaction flows, inbound corporate card feeds and down payment processing, and a Dolphin invoice imaging application for scanned invoice handling. The deployment supported Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable business functions for PSEG Long Island and the broader PSEG finance organization, with the relationship expressed as PSEG Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable AP Automation supporting Accounts Payable business functions.
Governance and rollout activities emphasized process documentation and testing, with To Be process mapping against standard SAP finance processes, execution of test cases and month end controls, offshore team coordination, and ongoing user support for security task groups and ticket resolution. The program included batch data loads for master data correction and ongoing operational support for blocked invoice handling and payment run exceptions.

In 2016, PSEG implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits to strengthen Benefits Administration across its HR and payroll functions. The deployment targeted employee lifecycle management for a large utility workforce based in Newark, New Jersey, and extended to configurations supporting payroll, eligibility, and enrollment workflows for more than 10,000 employees.
The implementation included SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Global Benefits as the core application, alongside SuccessFactors modules for Learning Management, Compensation, and Onboarding 2.0. Configuration work encompassed custom infotypes, Employee Central Payroll tuning, time management for shift workers, role based permissions, and development of automated approval workflows and People Analytics reporting to support compliance and skills training processes.
Architecture was a hybrid cloud integration linking on premises SAP HCM and SAP /4HANA HR modules with cloud SuccessFactors, using SAP CPI and API Management to orchestrate data flows. Integrations explicitly covered third party recruitment and benefits management systems, RESTful APIs for real time exchange with financial systems, ABAP extensions where required, and use of SuccessFactors Extension Center and SAP Fiori for mobile HR access.
Governance and rollout included defined role based access control, Data Purge Policies for retention, comprehensive documentation, UAT and integration testing, and instructor led training for HR staff to drive adoption. Compliance controls were implemented to support GDPR, SOX, and FERC requirements, and audit readiness was maintained through detailed configuration and process records.
Operationally the project preserved data integrity during migration of historical employee records into SuccessFactors and secured sensitive HR data via permissioning and audit controls. The SAP /4HANA transition for HR modules was managed alongside the SuccessFactors rollout with stated continuity of business operations and no disruption to services.
