| Infor | Legacy | Infor Lawson HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 Rainbow Shops implemented Infor Lawson HCM as its Core HR platform to centralize payroll and HRIS processing and compliance. The deployment supported in-house weekly payroll for more than 15,000 employees across 38 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia, and was positioned to handle multi‑jurisdiction withholding, reconciliation and reporting requirements.
Infor Lawson HCM was configured to manage core payroll and HRIS workflows, with administration of the Lawson HRIS database and automation of recurring processes. Functional capabilities implemented included payroll calculation and tax withholding, garnishment and bonus disbursement workflows, pay card and direct deposit enrollment management, and W-2 and W-3 generation and correction processing.
Operational integrations and external partnerships were explicit components of the implementation, including a brokered partnership with ADP to maximize Work Opportunity Tax Credit incentives and exchanges with third party insurance benefit administrators to coordinate annual open enrollment and enrollment data. The platform supported tax filing and reconciliation across more than 200 federal, state and local jurisdictions, quarterly FUTA and SUTA processes, and regular interaction with union representatives to administer collective bargaining agreements, remit monthly union dues, PAC, 401k and health plan premiums.
Governance and controls were structured around periodic system audits and reconciliations, compliance with record retention laws, and tax notice resolution and amended return filing to avoid penalties and interest. The implementation delivered specific operational outcomes documented by internal payroll leadership, including deployment of pay card and direct deposit programs that achieved over 80 percent employee participation in less than eleven months.

In 2015 Rainbow Shops implemented Island Pacific SmartRetail, a Retail Management application. The deployment centralized retail operations to support e-commerce merchandising, inventory control, fulfillment and warehouse coordination across the retailer’s operational footprint.
Island Pacific SmartRetail was configured to handle product content management and daily merchandising updates, order fulfillment orchestration, inventory tracking and cycle count workflows. The configuration also addressed product catalog management and archival of web-based product information to keep online content current and accurate as part of ongoing e-commerce operations.
The implementation integrated Island Pacific SmartRetail with existing commerce and back-office systems, explicitly including Demandware and AS400, and aligned with third party services for periodic inventories and cycle counts. Operational ownership rested with the e-commerce operations team, which acted as the business lead on merchandising, user experience projects and coordination with fulfillment partners.
Governance workstreams focused on cross-functional process controls, establishing HR system management touchpoints for warehouse and studio staffing and defining daily workflows for content maintenance and merchandising. Island Pacific SmartRetail was used to centralize product management workflows and to instrument fulfillment initiatives, supporting coordinated execution between merchandising, warehouse and fulfillment functions.

In 2013 Rainbow Shops deployed Adobe Dynamic Media Classic (ex Adobe Scene7) to centralize Content Management of rich media on its public website, aligning the application with ecommerce merchandising and marketing content workflows. The implementation positioned Adobe Dynamic Media Classic as the primary content management engine for product imagery and video, enabling template driven media insertion across product detail pages and promotional landing pages.
Configuration focused on dynamic image and video rendering, automated rendition generation for responsive breakpoints, and metadata driven asset selection. Adobe Dynamic Media Classic provided asset management capabilities, URL based delivery of transformed media, and integration points designed to embed media into existing page templates and content authoring flows without naming other systems.
Operational coverage concentrated on web content operations, merchandising teams, and digital marketing, with rollouts executed at the site template level to ensure consistent media behavior across the storefront. Governance emphasized media versioning, publishing approvals, and template level controls to standardize image treatment and delivery, while Adobe Dynamic Media Classic remained the core Content Management component for Rainbow Shops web media.
