Core configuration centered on general ledger integration and investment transaction processing capabilities in IRIS Accountancy Suite, enabling structured handling of RRSP and TIS postings and reconciliations. Operational processes included investigative workflows for incomplete investment transactions, using IRIS Accountancy Suite in conjunction with CSS and Branch DOS to trace and resolve exceptions. The investment team cross-trained across Bonds and Coupons and Group Financial Services, and received training in SDB and CSB to support later campaign requirements.
The IRIS Accountancy Suite integration footprint included Service Platform, Siebel, PeopleSoft and On Demand for upstream customer and transaction inputs, and CSS and Branch DOS for branch-level transaction validation. Operational scope spanned the Investment Group and branch representatives who worked closely with central accounting to complete transactions and provide relief coverage across roles. Governance emphasized cross-role coverage, investigative coordination between branches and central teams, and sustaining transaction integrity across interconnected systems.

The implementation integrated Sterling Background Check with Workday and ServiceNow to surface candidate status, exchange hiring metadata, and route background outcomes to payroll and immigration teams for work permit assessments. Operational coverage included onboarding teams based in Mississauga, Ontario and extended across stated RBC platforms where recruiters and hiring managers interact with screening workflows.

In 2015 Royal Bank of Canada standardized on Hyland Alfresco Process Services (BPM) to digitize post-trade workflows at RBC Capital Markets. The initiative employed the Alfresco Digital Business Platform combining Alfresco Content Services with Hyland Alfresco Process Services, classified as Business Process Management, to address confirmations, payments, tax provisioning and regulatory audit response processes.
The implementation focused on process orchestration and workflow automation integrated with content services for document capture and retrieval, enabling end to end case handling for post-trade and tax workflows. Hyland Alfresco Process Services (BPM) was configured to automate confirmations and payment routing, to support tax provisioning processes, and to generate audit response packages, aligning process models with finance and operations controls.
RBC expanded Alfresco licensing in 2018 and subsequently built dozens of applications, 14 reported in one update, extending the platform across global tax and confirmation teams. Governance emphasized standardized process templates and developer agility for finance and post-trade use cases, and the bank reported improvements in turnaround, control and developer agility for the affected business functions.
