RedMart implemented Oracle Cloud ERP in 2018, deploying the Oracle Cloud ERP application as its core ERP Financial platform to centralize finance operations in Singapore and support rapid business growth. By 2018 the Oracle Cloud ERP implementation was in production and being used to meet group consolidation timelines with Lazada and Alibaba following RedMart’s acquisition in December 2016.
The deployment emphasized transaction-level financial control, with Oracle Cloud ERP configured to accept line item order data into the general ledger, support accelerated invoicing workflows that invoice customers two hours after delivery, and handle refund processing down to the item level. Functional workstreams during rollout included financial close and reconciliation fixes, order management enhancements to support a hybrid warehouse and third-party marketplace SKU mix, and user acceptance testing to validate those finance and order orchestration capabilities.
Architecturally the solution was implemented as a cloud native ERP Financial application, accompanied by a substantial data migration and the development of application programming interfaces to connect Oracle Cloud ERP to RedMart’s surrounding systems. RedMart retained its previous financial system running in parallel while Oracle Cloud ERP stabilized, and used APIs to integrate order, marketplace and operational feeds into the new cloud instance. The implementation team combined Oracle Consulting resources with RedMart internal IT staff to complete software, testing and cutover activities.
Governance and rollout pacing were formalized with a go live date of 30 June and a one month fallback window to resolve issues discovered in production, including additional testing of refund workflows. The finance organization adopted the new ERP Financial processes and reconciliations, and operational outcomes explicitly reported included a reduction in the time to close the books from ten days to three days and a lower volume of refund calls due to faster, item-level invoicing. These outcomes supported faster group consolidation and provided improved stability and processing speed for the finance function.
