In 2008, Reliance Life implemented IgniteTech Aurea Process to automate underwriting workflows and establish process visibility. The deployment used Business Process Management capabilities to orchestrate end-to-end underwriting activities and to provide a centralized control point for case progression and decision tracking. The implementation focused on core BPM and workflow modules, including process orchestration, business rules automation, task routing, and operational monitoring as inferred from the customer announcement. IgniteTech Aurea Process was configured to model standard underwriting flows, enforce routing and SLAs, and surface real-time status through workflow dashboards and process analytics. Operational coverage was concentrated in India and targeted the underwriting business function, giving underwriters and operations teams consolidated visibility into case state and exception handling. The project was designed to standardize handoffs between underwriting steps, reduce manual routing, and enable automated decision points within the policy adjudication sequence. Governance changes included centralized workflow governance and standardized process models to support controlled rollouts and ongoing process tuning. As reported in the customer award announcement, the Reliance Life implementation reduced underwriting turnaround from roughly two weeks to about four hours, demonstrating a significant acceleration of decision cadence driven by IgniteTech Aurea Process.
