In 2016 Republic Airways implemented Workday Financial Management as its enterprise ERP Financial application to centralize finance and accounting operations across the airline. The deployment was executed as part of a broader SaaS-first modernization and aligned with an enterprise move toward cloud, DevOps, and agile operating models led by the IT leadership team.
Configuration focused on core financial management capabilities typical of Workday Financial Management, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement and supplier invoicing, fixed assets, cash and bank management, budgeting and financial reporting. The implementation emphasized configuration of a multi entity chart of accounts, period close orchestration, configurable approval workflows, and embedded financial reporting and analytics to support corporate and operational finance functions.
The technical architecture was a cloud SaaS deployment of Workday Financial Management provisioned alongside other SaaS investments such as Microsoft 365, a CMDB and service management system, training management and learning management systems, CRM tools, and talent acquisition platforms. Operational coverage centered on centralized finance and accounting teams, with configuration to support distributed operational stakeholders across Republic Airways’ sites and crew operations.
Governance and process changes accompanied the implementation, including strengthened finance controls, defined SOPs for month end and procurement workflows, role based access and segregation of duties controls, and inclusion of the application in enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery practices. The rollout was positioned as a core element of the companys enterprise technology modernization program and integrated into annual DR exercises that include public cloud scenarios.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Republic Airways implemented Workday HCM for Core HR, establishing a cloud-hosted HRIS platform to centralize human resources, payroll, and benefits administration. The deployment focused on operationalizing Workday HCM as the primary Core HR system, providing day-to-day HRIS support, report writing, and data integrity management across HR functional teams.
Workday HCM configuration encompassed core human resources modules, payroll-related business processes, benefits administration, security model configuration, access control, and reporting capabilities. The implementation included ongoing business process monitoring and configuration management, with dedicated responsibilities for creating and maintaining custom reports, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring continuity of configured business processes during upgrades.
The Workday environment is instrumented to monitor integrations for all areas of HR and payroll, both internally and externally, with operations coordinated with the Workday Integration Team to refine integration processes. Workday HCM was used to supply HR data to other business units while maintaining employee privacy controls, HIPAA considerations, and protection of sensitive payroll information, reflecting an integration posture that spans HR and Finance touchpoints.
Governance activities implemented alongside Workday HCM include a security model based on functional responsibilities, quarterly audits of HRIS user access conducted with HR and Finance management, and collaboration with internal audit to test documented internal control reporting requirements. The program also formalized review processes for Workday upgrades and feature enhancements to validate that existing processes continue to operate as expected, and provided end-user technical assistance and access control administration as part of ongoing HRIS support.

| IBS Software Services | Legacy | IBS Software iFlight | Flight Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2024 | 2024 |
In 2024, Republic Airways selected IBS Software iFlight from IBS Software Services to modernize its crew schedule bidding as a Flight Management solution, with the program announced in October and currently under development to support crew satisfaction and operational efficiency. The decision frames the deployment against Republic Airways' operational scale, which includes a fleet of more than 200 Embraer 170/175 aircraft and roughly 900 daily flights to over 80 cities in the United States and Canada.
The implementation focuses on IBS Software iFlight Crew Planning Optimisers and the iFlight Crew solution to modernise the airline’s Preferential Bidding System PBS, delivering a configurable optimizer, bid parameter controls and an intuitive interface for crew members. Specified functional capabilities include accommodation of personalized schedule preferences, transparent bidding workflows, efficient allocation of duties and time off, and enforcement of compliance with legal requirements, company rules and quality guidelines.
Republic’s selection followed a competitive review process that involved managers, crew members and unions, and the configured solution will be tailored through fine tuning of optimizer options and bid parameters to reflect Republic’s rostering policies. Operational coverage is centered on crew planning and crew operations teams within flight operations and will need to support bid processes aligned to Republic’s codeshare services with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines.
Governance emphasis in the rollout is on rule configurability and optimizer governance to balance crew preferences with operational goals, with development and delivery led by IBS Software Services in collaboration with Republic stakeholders. Republic and IBS state the deployment is intended to improve crew experience and accessibility during bidding while serving as a key element in advancing the airline’s operational efficiency.
