In 2006 Rexam Plc implemented Infor Lawson as an ERP Financial solution to centralize HR, benefits administration and employee self service across the company in the United Kingdom. The deployment targeted Lawson HR Suite and Employee Self Service workflows, with a focused implementation of Rexam People Portal as the organization specific ESS interface.
Implementation work included customization of Lawson HR Suite, adding customized system codes to host Rexam specific Lawson programs, and ongoing creation and maintenance of technical and user documentation for those customized programs and processes. The team maintained and enhanced the Rexam People Portal, performed Lawson security administration using LAUA and LID, and executed regular application maintenance tasks including applying CTPs, MSPs, ESPs and IBM fix packs as required.
The architecture included a Lawson Local Active Directory domain designed and implemented by Rexam, bound to IBM Tivoli Directory Server to provide authentication for Lawson and People Portal users, and a user self service password reset website. Integrations and system components explicitly managed in the environment included Lawson Application 8.0.1 and 9.0.1, Lawson Environment 8.0.3, Lawson System Foundation 9.0.1, Oracle 10g and 11g, DB2 9.5 and 9.7 as an LDAP repository, Websphere Application Server network deployment, IBM Http Server, Tivoli Directory Server, Active Directory, HP-UX Itanium hosts, and middleware and scripting tooling such as PLSQL, Korn shell, Perl and Java.
Operational and governance changes centered on account and security provisioning, including a formalized process to add, track and maintain Lawson user and ESS account login ids with minimal manual steps, and maintenance of Lawson security access across Active Directory, HP-UX and Tivoli Directory Services LDAP. The implementation also delivered a new interface from Lawson Benefits to Rexam's 401k provider that adjusted vendor output files for check voids, reissues and adjustments, and supported payroll related printing and tax processing through components such as Payformance and BSI Tax Factory.

| UKG | Legacy | UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) | Workforce Management | HCM | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Rexam Plc implemented UKG Workforce Central to centralize core HR and payroll operations, deploying the UKG Workforce Central application as the primary Workforce Management platform for the human resources function. The implementation was positioned to manage daily HR operations including payroll and an HRIS driven administrative layer, with UKG Workforce Central used to standardize transactional HR workflows and administrative reporting.
The implementation covered functional modules for payroll processing, HRIS administration, benefits setup and enrollment, recruiting and hiring workflows including interviewing and orientation training, and absence management workflows such as FMLA, short and long term disability and workers compensation administration. The program also included administration of an employee wellness program and structured training programs, notably Office Lean Manufacturing and innovation trainings, to increase operational productivity.
Operational coverage was focused on the human resources department and its touchpoints across associate administration, employee relations, policy enforcement, associates appreciation coordination, and grants and state funding oversight. UKG Workforce Central was configured to support end to end HR lifecycle activities from recruitment through payroll and benefits administration, aligning Workforce Management processes with existing HR governance and operational responsibilities.
Governance and process restructuring emphasized centralized payroll ownership, consolidated management of workers compensation and leave administration, and standardized policy and procedure enforcement across HR. The HR organization supervised rollout of training and orientation programs and embedded Lean Manufacturing practices into day to day operations to support productivity objectives.
Outcomes recorded by Rexam included a 50 percent reduction in man hours following implementation of the Kronos HRIS and payroll system, and a 15 percent reduction in medical costs through active administration of the employee wellness program. The deployment therefore combined Workforce Management tooling with process and training changes to drive administrative efficiency and lower healthcare expense.
