Tecsys Legacy Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP Distribution ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2010 2011
In 2010, S.J. Smith Company implemented Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP to consolidate core distribution and billing operations. The Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP deployment targeted the Davenport, Iowa operations of this 140 employee distributor and focused on centralizing invoicing, document generation and business intelligence workflows across finance and operations teams. Implementation work included customized billing and summary invoicing workflows and the design of business documents, custom forms and labels using SDSI Unform, integrated into Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP. Business intelligence and custom reporting capabilities were delivered through IBM Cognos and Oracle based reporting processes to support transactional and financial visibility. Technical delivery involved development of programming to transfer business data into Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP and automation of data exchange to and from third party vendors and customers, establishing persistent data interfaces and ETL style feeds. Systems development and administration tasks were executed on Red Hat Linux servers and terminals, which hosted components used for data staging, reporting and terminal operations. Operational governance and ownership rested with the senior systems analyst who led the BI, custom reporting and data migration efforts, and who designed the document and billing configurations. The engagement emphasized application configuration, interface programming and on premise server administration to operationalize Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP for S.J. Smith Company.
