In 2017 Sanofi Genzyme implemented Veeva Oncology Link as an Analytics and BI application to support Medical Affairs operations and field CRM workflows. The Business Process Owner for Veeva sat in the Medical Affairs Operations Team and was responsible for managing the field CRM environment that included Veeva and Salesforce, establishing operational ownership for ongoing configuration and reporting needs.
Veeva Oncology Link was configured to support user profile updates, territory alignments, loading of Surveys and Field Coaching Reports, and the development of operational reports. The team produced business and functional specifications for customizations after analyzing existing Validation Rules, Triggers and Page Layouts, aligning configuration changes to documented requirements for the Veeva Oncology Link environment.
The implementation involved active collaboration with internal and external support teams and coordination with IT and QA for release management, including facilitating user acceptance testing in HP ALM prior to production deployment. The deployment covered Medical Affairs and field force users across multiple therapeutic areas, and included training and enablement through demo sessions delivered at an off-site Veeva Oncology Summit.
Governance and process changes emphasized streamlining the enhancement request lifecycle and improving issue visibility, with prioritized review meetings to negotiate scope across therapeutic areas and regular progress reporting to Senior Management and Operations Directors. The team also reworked the MIR process by identifying pain points, evaluating solution options, and coordinating delivery and validation through IT and QA.
