In 2020, Sanrio USA implemented Shopify Plus to create an immersive content and commerce destination for its U.S. audience, aligning brand storytelling with transactional capabilities. The Shopify Plus deployment targeted the company website and prioritized ecommerce catalog management and checkout workflows for product lines including stationery, toys, apparel, accessories, and homeware.
Corra led digital experience strategy and design, delivering custom development and complex back end integrations to support rich content modules. The work included redesigned editorial and character discovery areas, event pages, downloadable wallpapers and crafts, recipe content, and Hello Kitty Cafe microsites, while embedding Shopify Plus commerce flows for storefront presentation and order capture.
The implementation integrated Shopify Plus with Klaviyo for marketing automation, Avalara for tax calculation, and Signifyd for fraud protection. Back end system integrations connected the storefront to Microsoft Dynamics AX for order and financial synchronization, and to a 3PL WMS for fulfillment and inventory coordination, enabling end to end order flow between commerce and operations.
The rollout was timed to support Hello Kitty’s birthday release and combined platform governance across Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, Avalara, Signifyd, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and the 3PL WMS. The project received recognition with an AVA Digital Awards 2021 Gold for web based production and creativity.
