The ABB Ability Marine Remote Diagnostic System was provisioned to provide 24/7 remote diagnostic support and predictive monitoring for critical shipboard assets, establishing an asset and operations monitoring layer to support vessel operations and maintenance. The deployment centralized remote support workflows and predictive maintenance signaling, enabling shore-based engineering to continuously monitor asset condition and triage issues to reduce unnecessary on board service visits. Governance and operational processes were adjusted to incorporate remote escalation paths between ABB support and SCF Group engineering, and the ABB Ability Marine Remote Diagnostic System was used to inform maintenance planning and operational decisions. ABB said the program reduced engineer visits by about 30 percent, and this reduction was cited as contributing to improved vessel uptime and safety.
