In 2019 Schaeffler implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud as its ERP Financial platform, deploying a cloud-hosted SAP S/4HANA Cloud instance to centralize transactional finance and key operational master data. The implementation was positioned to leverage SAP S/4HANA as the core of the Intelligent Enterprise, with an emphasis on automating routine transactions and improving process consistency across finance functions.
Configuration and functional scope included core finance capabilities and adjacent end to end workflows consistent with SAP documentation, specifically idea to design, procure to pay, plan to production, order to cash and offer to project processes. SAP S/4HANA Cloud was configured to automate business processes, detect patterns, predict outcomes and suggest actions, enabling standardized procure to pay, order to cash and production planning transactions along with centralized financial close and reporting workflows.
Operational coverage targeted finance, procurement, production planning and order management organizations, with governance focused on centralized transactional processing and process automation to shift employee effort toward higher value tasks. The vendor noted that SAP S/4HANA Cloud was named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape 2019 for SaaS and cloud enabled operational ERP applications, providing context for the product positioning at the time of Schaeffler's 2019 adoption.

| ADP | Legacy | ADP Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Schaeffler implemented ADP Benefits to centralize employee benefit processes under Benefits Administration. The deployment targeted Schaeffler Group human resources in the United States, with operational coverage including campus recruiting and coordination at the Cheraw, SC manufacturing site and HR functions across the America Region.
ADP Benefits was configured to manage benefits enrollment and eligibility, life insurance and disability coverage administration, 401-K administration, FMLA case tracking, and benefit status changes tied to performance reviews and employment events. Configuration included workflow rules for offer to hire transition, benefits effective dating, and status change processing to support site HR coordinators and centralized benefits administrators.
The implementation integrated ADP Benefits with Schaeffler recruiting and onboarding systems, explicitly linking candidate records from Taleo recruiting software and exporting onboarding outputs into SAP for I9 generation and new hire recordkeeping. Background and drug screening steps remained handled by external screening systems, with ADP Benefits receiving status indicators to finalize enrollment and eligibility.
Operational governance assigned benefits administration and status change execution to HR coordinators at site level, with cross functional coordination across Talent Acquisition, EHS, and Quality for orientation and compliance workflows. Schaeffler HR continued to use ADP Benefits for employee counseling related to benefits, unemployment and leave administration, and the HR campus recruiter was recognized in 2020 for hiring the most new employees in the America Region.
