In 2019 Servus Credit Union implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core ERP Financial application to consolidate finance and operations workflows across its Canadian retail banking footprint and corporate functions. The deployment was positioned to serve a 2,500 person organization supporting member-facing banking applications and back-office finance, HR and payroll functions.
Implementation scope centered on core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, fixed assets and financial reporting, configured to align with banking accounting and regulatory controls. Configuration work included workflow automation, MS Bots for banking processes, PowerApps automations, UI development using HTML, CSS and ASP.Net, and custom RESTful APIs to support transaction processing and financial close orchestration.
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations instance integrated with a SQL Server based data tier maintained by Servus IT, leveraging architectures described by the team such as SQL 2016 Availability Groups for high availability, transactional replication for reporting, and later migrations to SQL 2019 for in-house application databases. ETL and BI integration used SSIS packages and a data warehouse ecosystem to populate reporting stores, and application integrations included OnBase for digital document management, MS CRM for customer data, Avanti for HR and payroll, Credit Path for member credit workflows, Saba Cloud for employee training, and ISM ticketing for operational support.
Operational governance and support were led by internal application analysts who performed requirements analysis, system impact assessments, configuration testing, change control and stakeholder sign-offs, and provided ongoing end-user support for both member and back-office teams. Development and automation followed source control practices with git, GitHub and TFS, and included database administration, SSIS development, and custom API and server-side components to bridge Dynamics 365 with internal banking services and automation workflows.

In 2010, Servus Credit Union implemented Temenos T24 as its Core Banking platform, deploying the T24 Canadian Model Bank to consolidate membership functionality and support Canadian credit union operations. The implementation was driven by the amalgamation of three Alberta credit unions and the need to bring multi-system operations onto a single, configurable banking platform to support rapid product configuration and a unified member view.
The T24 deployment included the T24 Canadian Model Bank configuration, incorporating membership management, core back office processing, integrated CRM capabilities, compatibility with International Financial Reporting Standards and foreign exchange functionality. Temenos T24 was configured for high operational configurability to reduce technical diversity, enable faster front office servicing, and centralize customer information for servicing across channels.
Integration scope emphasized out-of-the-box interfaces for third party systems and platform independence, aligning with Microsoft SQL Server in the Canadian market to enable local technical alignment. The deployment supported Servus service lines including registered accounts, financing, investments, insurance, commercial banking, and 24-hour online and telephone banking, covering province-wide operations across Alberta and servicing approximately 400,000 members.
Servus engaged Temenos Management Consultancy services to realign business processes to T24 workflows, coordinate post-amalgamation process consolidation and maximize feature adoption.
