In 2014, Sierra Nevada implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP Financial platform. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment was positioned to consolidate finance and supply chain workflows, providing a single application footprint for accounts receivable and accounts payable flows along with procurement and manufacturing support.
The implementation included hands on configuration and operational use of P2P modules, specifically iProcurement, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, and iSupplier, alongside SCM capabilities including Bill of Materials and Work in Process. Financial modules deployed included Oracle Fixed Assets with general ledger entry processing, journal processing, asset setup, year end procedures, and global updates, and the team developed and customized XML Publisher reports, Oracle Forms, and PL SQL procedures to meet reporting and transaction validation requirements.
The technology architecture incorporated clustered database and middleware patterns, with Oracle RAC 10g installation, RAC performance tuning, and connection load balancing, and multiple Oracle 9i databases provisioned for development, test, and production. Integration and analytics components implemented alongside Oracle E-Business Suite included OBIEE for business intelligence, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion reporting for financial consolidation and reporting, deployed BPEL processes managed by Oracle BPEL Process Manager, and ERwin data modeling to support schema and data governance. Oracle Directory Service Manager was used to integrate OID with Oracle Enterprise Manager to centrally manage and monitor Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Databases, and Oracle Applications.
Operational governance emphasized validation and verification processes, importing and exporting hierarchy management, and ongoing testing and debugging of Oracle internals, architecture, and performance. Customization and extension work used Oracle Application Framework to build and extend components with Forms Personalization and controller extensions, aligning the Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial capabilities to Sierra Nevada finance, procurement, inventory, and manufacturing business functions.

In 2019 Sierra Nevada implemented Equifax I-9 Anywhere to centralize Form I-9 collection and verification as part of its HR Compliance program. The deployment placed Equifax I-9 Anywhere at the center of onboarding workflows, with Administrative Coordinator II staff collecting new hire identity documents on-site at the Herndon location and entering verification data directly into Equifax I-9 Anywhere to maintain electronic I-9 records and completion status.
The implementation leveraged standard HR Compliance capabilities of the application, including electronic Form I-9 completion, secure document capture and storage, role-based access for HR administrators, and an auditable completion trail to support regulatory recordkeeping. Configuration focused on user access for HR and site security personnel, form validation rules for acceptable identity documents, and operational procedures for on-site document collection and data entry.
Operational scope included HR administration and site security functions at Sierra Nevada facilities where new hires were processed, with the Administrative Coordinator role formalized to perform on-site collection and data entry into Equifax I-9 Anywhere. Governance changes centered on assigning responsibility for I-9 intake and record maintenance to defined HR staff, instituting consistent document handling and audit procedures to ensure ongoing HR Compliance.

In 2017, Sierra Nevada implemented Pentagon 2000SQL as its Aviation ERP,Aviation MRO platform. The deployment targeted Straight Flight operations based in Englewood, CO and Centennial Airport, supporting site level maintenance billing and finance functions. The implementation focused on operational finance for aircraft maintenance programs and bookkeeping activities tied to complex work orders.
Pentagon 2000SQL was configured to enable generation of A/R invoices directly from complex aircraft maintenance work orders, manage accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows, and perform cash reconciliation and general ledger account reconciliation. Functional capabilities were applied to capture maintenance labor and parts, route billing records into financial ledgers, and support review of entries and financial statements by the corporate accounting team.
The system was used by bookkeepers and office managers at Straight Flight and by the corporate accountant to support month end close activities including cash reconciliation, A/R and A/P reconciliation, and monthly receipts reconciliation. This positioned Pentagon 2000SQL to link maintenance transactions with corporate financial close processes and to provide cross training and guidance to administrative staff responsible for transactional posting and reconciliations.
Governance emphasized role based responsibilities for invoice generation, reconciliations, and financial review, with documented procedures for posting maintenance work order settlements and reviewing financial statements. Training and cross training were established for the Bookkeeper, Office Manager, and Admin Assistant roles to maintain accounting accuracy across site and corporate functions.
