In 2022, Sodival implemented Amazon EC2 for its website, adopting Application Hosting and Computing Services to run its public-facing retail storefront. The deployment uses Amazon Web Services infrastructure to provide compute capacity for web applications and content delivery to customers in France.
The implementation centers on Amazon EC2 virtual machine instances, standard instance images and instance lifecycle management, with configuration of security groups and network segmentation inside an AWS virtual network. The environment is aligned with common Application Hosting and Computing Services patterns, including automated provisioning of instances, use of machine images for repeatable builds, and elastic scaling constructs to manage variable web traffic.
Operationally the EC2 deployment is scoped to the company web operations and IT function, supporting online product catalogs and customer-facing services. Governance and process controls were established around instance provisioning, access management and patching workflows to operationalize the Application Hosting and Computing Services environment across Sodival’s technical teams.
