| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Softbank implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial application. The deployment supported Accounts Payable and core financial reporting workflows for Softbank Group International operations, with documented operational activity tied to the San Carlos, CA A/P team.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to support accounts payable processing, vendor master management, purchase order creation, general ledger coding workflows, and custom reporting. Implementation artifacts include saved search reports, custom NetSuite queries, and batch import routines to update vendor record fields and support accurate financial reporting.
Operational interplay between procurement and the ERP is visible, as NetSuite data was analyzed to measure month‑over‑month Coupa processing increases following Coupa implementation. Purchase orders were created and managed in NetSuite in accordance with terms and conditions of statements of work, and domestic and international vendor onboarding was administered through the ERP and associated data imports.
Governance and process restructuring accompanied the ERP work, including a SharePoint site and standardized templates to streamline GL coding, reduce email traffic between FP&A and A/P, and communicate coding corrections. A/P queue redesign and cleanup reduced response backlogs, while saved searches and custom reports were used by management and auditors to centralize financial inquiry and oversight.
Documented outcomes tied directly to the NetSuite implementation and local process changes include creation of custom NetSuite reports and queries that saved consulting fees, batch import controls that ensured reporting accuracy, a 40 percent reduction in month‑end journal entries through coding process standardization, and a 50 percent reduction in A/P client response time through queue overhauls.
