| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Expense | Expense Management | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Sonepar implemented SAP Concur Expense as part of a planned multi-year international rollout. The deployment targets the Expense Management category across approximately 40 countries and about 35,000 employees, positioning SAP Concur Expense to standardize travel and expense processes for the distribution organization.
The implementation centered on the Expense and Request modules of SAP Concur Expense, configured to support automated receipt capture, policy based approval workflows, expense report submission and reconciliation, and travel authorization linkage. Configuration emphasized approval hierarchies, expense type controls, and request workflows to align pre travel approvals with post travel expense processing.
Integrations were scoped explicitly with Travel and all interfaces, with architecture designed around a single cloud instance for consistency and localized configuration layers for country specific tax and compliance needs. The deployment included planned connectors and reporting feeds to surface Concur transaction data into Sonepar enterprise reporting and operational systems.
Governance was organized as a phased country by country rollout with centralized configuration governance and designated local country owners to manage policy exceptions and regulatory compliance. A lead consultant supported the development and deployment activities, and the program was structured to run over multiple years to complete coverage of the targeted countries.
