In 2014 Sonny's BBQ implemented ParTech Data Central Labor Management as part of a broader data consolidation and workforce automation initiative. The move aligned with a parallel deployment of Brink POS and Restaurant Magic back-office software, and corporate rollout and customized training were completed in 2015 to deliver store level and corporate visibility across the chain of 110 locations. ParTech Data Central Labor Management was configured to provide core Workforce Management capabilities including labor scheduling, predictive scheduling and forecasting, time and attendance reporting, and role-based dashboards with scheduled reports and alerts. The project leveraged Restaurant Magic’s Data Central Management Suite capabilities for advanced forecasting, predictive inventory and food prep tools, and near real-time operational reporting to link labor decisions with transactional and inventory signals. Integrations centered on Restaurant Magic’s partnership with Brink POS using Brink’s open API to consolidate transactional data for unified labor and operational analysis. The implementation covered corporate operations and individual restaurant managers, and was explicitly positioned to support operations, finance and marketing decision workflows as well as loss prevention by delivering consolidated store and corporate reporting. The combined solution and rollout strategy produced explicitly stated outcomes including COGS savings of 1.0 to 2.4 percent, improved food cost visibility, and sales performance reported at 4.93 percent above the industry average with results exceeding the 90th percentile for casual dining according to BBI. ParTech Data Central Labor Management, as a Workforce Management application, became the central labor and scheduling platform enabling faster, data driven operational decisions across Sonny’s BBQ.

The cloud-hosted Brink POS architecture was positioned to minimize Sonny's data center footprint while providing centralized management of POS endpoints and payment workflows. Governance and rollout were driven by Sonny's internal '68 Refresh' initiative and a comprehensive RFP process led by the CIO, establishing requirements for customer engagement, loyalty integration and a future proof open platform. PAR provided the Brink POS software, tablets, terminals and service solutions for deployment and ongoing support, with rollout plans focused on standardizing configuration and operational procedures across sites. Stated benefits of the Par Tech Brink POS implementation included streamlined IT operations, reduced onsite data center requirements and enhanced customer engagement through integrated loyalty and mobile ordering, while the open SaaS architecture was cited as enabling faster feature delivery and future extensibility.
