The engagement spanned through to 2017 with a project manager and technical lead responsible for integration, mobile deployment and device asset management across field operations. The SAP Syclo deployment focused on SAP SMP Syclo integration with SAP ECC and Ellipse, and configuration of mobile workflows aligned to Work Manager requirements for field crews. The programme captured requirements for Work Manager, MGIS and Lone Worker replacement solutions, and delivered the Geofield MGIS mobile application as a primary field data capture and GIS-enabled work execution tool. Integrations were explicit and multi-system, linking SAP Syclo to corporate reporting systems DG2, DG3 and DG5, BOGIS, CSMS and upstream asset registers in Ellipse, while the Orbis Lone Worker solution was implemented to support safety workflows. Mobile device management and provisioning used O365 alongside SAP Afaria and Airwatch to manage smartphones and ruggedised tablets deployed to approximately 750 end users and to third party contractors across three counties. Governance and rollout were delivered as a managed programme, covering supplier coordination, staged mobile deployments, transition of systems and processes into business as usual, and device asset management. The implementation emphasized stability and seamless integration with the current IT landscape and security, while minimizing disruption to business as usual for field operations and asset management.
