In 2016 University of Windsor initiated a program to deploy Oracle Cloud ERP for ERP Financial functions, prioritizing campus student financials and core accounting integration. The implementation narrative centers on Oracle Cloud ERP supporting student accounts and bursar operations, aligning an ERP Financial platform with campus finance business functions.
The scope of work documented a Campus Solutions 9.2 Student Financials fit gap assessment that enumerated functional modules including fee structure, accounting structure and GL integration, self service and new fluid functionality, legacy data conversions, refunding, billing, collections, taxes, payment plans and third party contracts, and cashiering. Configuration and automation considerations focused on fee configuration, chart of accounts and transaction posting rules, cashiering workflows, and self service payment and refund flows typical of ERP Financial deployments.
Integrations were explicitly scoped to connect Campus Solutions Student Financials with Oracle Finance Cloud and multiple third party systems, with attention to interfaces, conversions, and GL mapping. Fit gap workshops were facilitated to review all business processes and to assess technical and configuration effort required across student finance, cashiering, and central finance teams.
Deliverables included fit documentation with configuration estimates, decision documents for fundamental configuration items such as accounting structure, and a customization inventory detailing reports, modifications, interfaces, and conversions with proposed solutions and effort estimates. Governance activities emphasized configuration decisioning and a remediation roadmap for identified customizations, preserving clear handoffs between student financials stakeholders and finance system owners.
