In 2017, St Vincents Health Australia implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The deployment established Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as the enterprise ERP Financial platform to support core finance and supply chain processes across hospitals and corporate support departments. The program included separated D365 environments for cutover, testing and BAU support to manage configuration and data staging.
Implementation work focused on finance and supply chain modules, security role design, and workflow customization. The team created an ETL process to load and transform more than 1,000 users, 100 security roles and 10 legal entities into different D365 environments, and designed persona versus user versus security role versus legal entity mappings. Chart of Account change assessments and mapping rules were formalized to align transaction flows and reporting across legal entities. Ongoing BAU support work included security role management, workflow management and user access automation using Power App to meet audit requirements.
Integration design and technical architecture were a core component of the program, with integration specifications defined for on premise applications, a data warehouse, external supplier interfaces and banking connections. Middleware mapping and transformation rules were translated for Rhapsody and third party integrations, and an initial analysis reduced 80 plus interface candidates to eight must have interfaces, including WEBPAS, CBORD, KARISMA, Blackline, NAB, 3PL, Magiq and ADF. Azure SQL Database provisioning was used for shared data access, with database logins provisioned and authentication evaluated between Azure Active Directory and SQL Server authentication.
Governance and cutover planning were operationalized through detailed role and security deployment plans and ETL cutover activities. The program delivered a formal mapping model for personas, security roles and legal entities to streamline access and approvals, and established incident management and knowledge base practices to stabilize an out of support ERP application cited by stakeholders. Continuous improvement was driven through automation of user access workflows and structured integration workshops that bridged business groups, middleware developers and D365 technical teams.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 St Vincents Health Australia implemented Workday Absence Management to centralize leave administration for its workforce, aligning the deployment with Absence and Leave Management objectives for HR and workforce operations. The Workday Absence Management implementation was provisioned in the Workday cloud tenant and positioned to support absence tracking, entitlement calculation, time off requests and approvals, and regulatory leave categories for the healthcare organization.
Workday Absence Management was configured to leverage Workday Human Capital Management constructs and Workday Reporting capabilities, using absence plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and manager approval workflows typical of Absence and Leave Management solutions. The configuration emphasized standardized absence types and automated accrual processing, and reporting objects were instrumented to enable operational absence visibility and compliance reporting within the Workday tenant.
Governance and operational ownership were led by internal Workday HRIS roles, including a Workday HRIS Lead for Compensation and Absence and dedicated Workday Analysts based in Brisbane and Melbourne, who managed configuration, testing and role-based access controls. The rollout covered Brisbane and Melbourne sites and was structured to support HR and workforce management teams across St Vincents Health Australia, with ongoing configuration stewardship maintained by the internal HRIS function.

In 2024 St Vincents Health Australia selected MEDITECH Expanse EHR as its Foundation Electronic Health Record. The organisation will deploy the MEDITECH Expanse EHR clinical solution across its 10 private hospitals in Australia to support patient centred care and to unify clinical workflows across its private hospital network.
The implementation centers on core Electronic Health Record capabilities typical for acute care, including clinical documentation, computerized provider order entry, medication management and administration, care coordination and clinical decision support. Configuration is expected to emphasize integrated clinical workflows for nursing, medical and allied health teams, with templates and role based access to support point of care documentation and treatment planning.
Operational coverage is focused on the ten private hospital sites, with rollout governance organized around phased hospital go lives, clinical governance committees and structured training and change management programs. The deployment anticipates interfacing with hospital diagnostic systems, imaging and pathology, pharmacy and scheduling and billing systems to support end to end inpatient and outpatient clinical operations, while positioning MEDITECH Expanse EHR as the central clinical record for patient facing and provider facing functions.
