In 2012, Stadler Rail deployed HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to address a new, growing maintenance business area that required structured planning and organizational control. The HxGN EAM implementation was scoped for roughly 500 concurrent users within a company of about 7,000 employees operating across more than 20 locations, targeting rail vehicle maintenance operations, warranty processing, and statutory documentation requirements.
The deployment emphasized core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities consistent with heavy-asset operations, including a centralized asset register, planned maintenance and scheduling, work order management, warranty management, and maintenance documentation workflows. Configuration work focused on planning and coordination modules to reduce manual planning effort and to support organizational activities tied to the new maintenance service line.
Operationally the HxGN EAM instance was positioned to coordinate maintenance across Stadler Rail sites and service departments, integrating with the firms existing Infor COM ERP environment that Stadler had been using since 2006 for procurement and commercial master data. User roles implemented included maintenance planners, field technicians, and warranty administrators, enabling role-based work order assignment, parts provisioning alignment with ERP, and audit-ready activity records for national regulatory compliance.
Governance work established structured maintenance planning processes and formal warranty and documentation workflows to meet regulatory and customer requirements, with rollout prioritized for maintenance operations and service management functions. The implementation narrative is centered on HxGN EAM as Stadler Rail Enterprise Asset Management, addressing explicit challenges of planning, coordination, compliance, documentation, and warranty processing in rail vehicle maintenance.
