In 2016, Stein Mart implemented SAP Concur Expense as its Expense Management solution to centralize travel and expense workflows and to underpin a strategic Managed Travel Program. The deployment targeted company travel governance and included management of the Travel Management Company RFP process and ongoing vendor and agency relationship oversight.
SAP Concur Expense was configured to support Concur-driven expense capture, approval routing, corporate card controls, and policy compliance alongside a Corporate Card Program implementation and administration function. Reporting and analysis capability was delivered through Concur Cognos and structured Excel extracts, enabling standard expense reporting, spend categorization, and eligibility review.

Operational coverage focused on finance, accounts payable, travel operations, and corporate sourcing functions, and included processing and reconciliation of travel and relocation advances.
Governance centered on vendor management and travel program controls, with ongoing monitoring of spend to identify opportunities or deviations from program goals, and a continuous improvement cadence. Program administration responsibilities included driving process improvements, publishing a quarterly T&E newsletter, and maintaining high levels of client service across expense processing and travel management.
