The solution also incorporates communications workflows to forwarders such as U-freight, DHL and FedEx and to consignees, with booking, tracking and alerting functions tied to ERP transactions. Governance and process changes included Logistics Supervisor oversight, supervision of in-house representatives or partner forwarders, participation in SPC meetings and Kaizen continuous improvement activities, and standardized daily, weekly, monthly and quarter end reporting. Operational coverage centered on the Logistics and Purchasing functions, with Oracle E-Business Suite providing the transactional backbone for shipment processing and export compliance.
