In 2009, Suntech implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to centralize core ERP Financial processes within its corporate finance organization. The Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment established a cloud-based financial management layer, configured to handle general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management and statutory financial reporting. Configuration emphasized multi-entity ledger support, chart of accounts consolidation and multi-currency accounting to align period-end close and consolidation workflows. The implementation followed ERP Financial operational patterns for transaction automation and period close orchestration.
Operational scope targeted finance, accounting, treasury and procurement functions at Suntech, with system configuration supporting intercompany accounting and automated journal processing. Governance changes included standardized accounting policies implemented through workflow-driven approvals and role-based access controls inside the application. Controls and audit-oriented reporting were instrumented to support centralized financial reporting and enforce consistent month-end procedures across reporting entities. The narrative links Suntech, Oracle NetSuite ERP, ERP Financial and corporate finance to clarify the relationship between the company, the application, the category and the business function.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011 Suntech implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR application to centralize personnel and workforce administration across the enterprise. The deployment established a consolidated HR master data layer and organizational hierarchy to standardize employee records and support workforce-related reporting across business units.
Configuration and module coverage focused on standard Core HR capabilities, including personnel administration, organizational management, time and attendance feeds, payroll interfacing, and foundational talent and workforce administration functions consistent with human capital management practice. SAP HCM (HR) was configured to align employee master data and HR transactions with the broader SAP landscape, explicitly mapping to transactional SAP ERP modules such as SD, MM, PP and FICO to preserve process and data consistency.
Integrations were implemented with Suntech's reporting and middleware stack, including SAP BW for enterprise reporting, Oracle Hyperion for enterprise performance management and budgeting workflows, SEEBURGER EDI/EAI and Informatics middleware for automated electronic data interaction, and MS SQL Server based reporting stores. These integrations supported cross-application data analysis and management reporting, including Act Vs Budget Vs Forecast, as part of the internal BI team’s remit.
Governance and rollout were managed within Suntech’s IT and BI organization, with project management controls to govern delivery timelines, quality and financial budgets, and with internal teams driving data representation decision trees and ongoing EDI/EAI operations. The SAP HCM (HR) implementation affected HR operational processes and provided aligned personnel data feeds used by finance and supply chain reporting workflows, supporting coordination with O2C and P2P related financial processes.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011 Suntech deployed SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as its enterprise Data Warehouse to centralize reporting and cross-application analytics. The implementation was driven by an internal BI organization active from November 2010 to February 2013 that defined BI strategy, led BI tools sourcing and ROI evaluation, and coordinated a reporting and data representation decision tree across enterprise applications such as SAP ERP, CRM, SCM, SRM, MES, HR and APS.
SAP BW (Business Warehouse) was configured to support Enterprise Performance Management workflows, including consolidated data reporting, budget and rolling forecast processes, and high-level management reporting for Act Vs Budget Vs Forecast. The BI team enabled cross-application data analysis and financial and supply chain process analytics, explicitly supporting Order to Cash and Procure to Pay flows and finance modules SD, MM, PP and FICO, while structuring data models and delivery pipelines typical of a Data Warehouse implementation.
Integrations were implemented around the SAP ERP core, with automated electronic data interchange and application integration via SEEBURGER EDI/EAI and Informatics, and with on-premise analytics and planning systems including Oracle Hyperion, Analyzer and MS SQL Server AS. The SAP BW environment served as the central reporting layer that consolidated transactional feeds from business applications and EDI channels, enabling consistent datasets for EPM and department-level analysis across SCM and finance functions.
Governance and delivery were organized under a project management approach, with the BI Manager acting as project manager to control BI projects for timely, quality and budget-compliant delivery, and managing both internal BI resources and third party vendor resources. Operational ownership for SAP BW and related systems was established within IT to sustain reporting, support enterprise budgeting and forecasting, and to support business operations in meeting organizational objectives.
