In 2016, Swinton Group implemented Infor SunSystems as its core ERP Financial application. The deployment was scoped to centralize financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for the Swinton Commercial business and the Specialist Units, reporting to the Head of Finance and a small finance team responsible for management reporting.
Infor SunSystems was configured to support standard ERP Financial capabilities including the general ledger, unit-level P&L reporting, budgeting and forecasting modules, month-end close workflows, and management reporting packs. The implementation captured weekly forecast workflows and month-end P&L reporting for each unit, and supported periodic reforecasting and a rolling five year plan to reflect market and regulatory influences.
Operational coverage extended beyond core finance to provide financial inputs for operations and marketing, with SunSystems outputs used to produce variance analysis, commentary and CLTV informed marketing spend assessments. The system was used to structure budget packs and to record the financial assumptions and costings that underpinned investment appraisal work for a company-wide transformation program.
Governance was formalized around a monthly and weekly cadence for forecasts and reporting, standardized investment appraisal templates for project viability and variance tracking through transformation stages, and documented costing workflows for new incentive schemes to ensure FCA compliance. Swinton Group Infor SunSystems ERP Financial supported the finance function in producing board-ready budget packs, unit-level management information and structured approval traces for transformation investments.

In 2019, Swinton Group implemented MHR Strategic HR as its enterprise Core HR platform. MHR Strategic HR was deployed to centralize employee data and standardize core HR processes across the insurer, aligning system capabilities with the companys HR and reward workflows.
The implementation emphasized streamlining flexible benefits and using iTrent to automate pensions auto enrolment assessments and reporting to the companys pension provider. Configuration work focused on benefits lifecycle management, automated eligibility assessments and duty-bound reporting to external pension schemes, shifting routine compliance tasks into the application.
Operational scope covered HR and reward teams across Swinton Group in the United Kingdom, moving administrative casework into MHR Strategic HR and iTrent powered processes. Integrations explicitly included automated reporting to the pension provider, which reduced manual handoffs between HR and external retirement administrators.
Governance and process transformation freed up HR capacity to focus on more strategic issues and improved the employee experience. The change enabled Swintons reward team to concentrate on pay and grading structures and to resolve key issues around pay and reward, with MHR Strategic HR underpinning the new operating model.
