In 2015, Synchrony Financial implemented Transcepta AP in the AP Automation category to standardize supplier invoice submission into Accounts Payable. The rollout targeted selected suppliers and centralized invoice intake for Synchrony Financial Accounts Payable, inviting suppliers to enroll via Transcepta supplier onboarding resources.
Transcepta AP was configured to provide multiple electronic invoice submission channels including email ingestion, a virtual printer driver, EDI via FTP, and a web-based supplier portal. The implementation included automated invoice validation and notification workflows to flag incomplete or missing information, plus an onboarding step to send sample invoices to verify the preferred submission method. The Transcepta Supplier Portal provided manual invoice entry and status tracking, and confirmation emails supplemented portal visibility.
Transcepta operated as a third party electronic invoice service provider, creating a secure electronic transmission path that guaranteed delivery directly into Synchrony Financials Accounts Payable system. EDI over FTP accommodated high volume senders, while the virtual printer and email ingestion allowed suppliers to send invoices directly from billing systems without scanning. The architecture emphasized direct, machine readable delivery into AP rather than continued manual email or postal intake.
Governance followed a supplier invitation and enrollment process with centralized support contacts at Synchrony and Transcepta, and required strict invoice field compliance including invoice date, unique invoice number, valid 9 digit purchase order number, total invoice amount, bill to name matching a Synchrony company, and a remit to address on file with Synchrony Bank. Synchrony Financial instructed enrolled suppliers to cease mailing or emailing invoices once transacting electronically through Transcepta, shifting AP intake processes and reducing manual handling. Support and exception handling were routed to Transcepta Supplier Recruiting and Synchrony AP remittance contacts.
Synchrony Financial documented that Transcepta AP enabled guaranteed electronic delivery and facilitated automatic validation, allowing faster invoice processing and optimizing invoice receipt to payment for participating suppliers. Tracking and notification features provided suppliers with improved visibility into invoice delivery and status.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | Capgemini | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 Synchrony implemented Workday Absence Management to standardize leave tracking and employee absence workflows across its HR Operations organization. The Workday Absence Management application was deployed as part of the Absence and Leave Management category to operationalize FMLA and LTD tracking and to centralize leave policy enforcement and reporting.
Capgemini served as the systems integrator for the Workday Absence Management deployment, configuring modules within Workday that intersected with personal data management, organization restructuring, position management, compensation changes, onboarding, and terminations. Configuration work emphasized automated absence entitlement calculations, leave event case tracking, and role based task routing within the Workday tenant to align HR operations and benefits administration.
Operational coverage focused on HR Operations supporting approximately 10,000 global employees, with processes instrumented to execute roughly 3,000 Workday transactions annually as part of leave and benefits workflow. The implementation linked Workday Absence Management workflows to benefits program tracking and the Employee Benefit Appeal Program to ensure consistent decisioning and case visibility across HR and benefits teams.
Governance centered on centralized HR Operations ownership with procedural refinements to leave tracking, including oversight of FMLA and LTD workflows. Process changes delivered an explicit outcome, modifying the Employee Benefit Appeal Program and decreasing decision turnaround from 2 weeks to 24 hours, while the HR operations team continued to manage ongoing transactional volume and leave program oversight.

| MicroStrategy | Legacy | MicroStrategy ONE Analytics | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2014 | 2018 |
In 2014 Synchrony implemented MicroStrategy ONE Analytics as an enterprise Analytics and BI platform. MicroStrategy ONE Analytics was deployed across MicroStrategy Intelligence Server, MicroStrategy Web, MicroStrategy Desktop, MicroStrategy Administrator, Narrowcast Server, Object Manager, Enterprise Manager, and Report Services, and integrated with a Teradata V2R6.1.1 data warehouse to serve business reporting needs.
The implementation included creation of metadata and statistic tables and conversion of the corporate data model into a warehouse star data model to support dimensional reporting. MicroStrategy ONE Analytics was used to generate schema and application objects, including facts, attributes, hierarchies, metrics, compound metrics, filters, custom groups, consolidations, templates, and transformations for comparative reporting such as sales year to date, month to date, and quarter to date.
Reporting covered both ad hoc and standard report consumption, with Report Services and dashboards used for performance reporting and user-facing analytics. Dashboards were developed and converted into Flash mode where required, drill maps were created to enable end user drill down and data recovery, and Narrowcast Server and Enterprise Manager were used for scheduled distribution and enterprise report generation.
Governance and operational workflows included using Object Manager to migrate objects from development to testing to production environments, and participation within the enterprise data warehouse team for report modeling and architecture. Administrative responsibilities for MicroStrategy ONE Analytics encompassed tuning, caching, specifying query governing thresholds, report optimization, and troubleshooting prompts, filters, templates, consolidations, and custom groups to maintain stability and performance.
