| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2015 | 2018 |
In 2015, Syncreon implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to manage ERP Financial operations for a $30 million reverse logistics legal entity. The implementation encompassed a complex finance structure with five separate general ledgers and cost centers, distinct payables and receivables streams, multiple bank accounts, and ERP support for operational reporting and inventory management.
Configuration focused on core financial accounting and subledger workflows, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounting and daily cash journal processing, fixed asset capitalization and depreciation, payroll journal entry support, and inventory valuation roll-forward processes. The team established routine procedures for monthly general ledger reconciliations, daily inventory roll-forwards comparing system valuation to warehouse reported on-hand, weekly aged receivable summaries, bi-weekly payroll processing, and a month-end reporting package prepared for Controller review within five business days.
Integrations and data interfaces were explicit where documented, reconciling monthly general ledger accounts from Axional to corporate financial templates and consuming hours worked from Ceridian Time and Attendance to drive bi-weekly payroll entries in SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Operational coverage included finance, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and on-site HR coordination, with communication channels to account management and external customers for receivable resolution and to the corporate consolidation team for quarterly reporting.
Governance centered on reconciliation controls and review workflows, including Controller review and subsequent account updates, weekly cash forecast distribution to treasury, capital expenditure review and reporting against budget, and documented investigation of payroll issues with on-site HR. The project also supported the transition of the ERP system to SAP, embedding SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary ERP Financial application for this legal entity.
