Workflows were configured for automated journal processing, period-end close orchestration and role-based access controls to support auditability and consistent accounting practice.
Operational design aligned ERP Financial processes with transactional touchpoints such as order-to-cash and procure-to-pay, enabling transactional and master data feeds into Oracle NetSuite ERP for consolidation and reporting. Integration patterns emphasized batch and real-time interfaces to supply financial transactions and master data into the central ERP Financial ledger.
Governance measures instituted centralized financial controls, month-end close procedures, role segregation and formal change management to enforce accounting policies and internal controls. The rollout was executed to standardize workflows across finance teams and business units, embedding Oracle NetSuite ERP as the primary finance and accounting system for Tableau Software.

In 2015 Tableau Software deployed ADP SmartCompliance as part of its Payroll Tax Compliance capability to support corporate payroll tax governance and multi-jurisdiction tax administration. The ADP SmartCompliance implementation was coordinated alongside Workday testing and parallel payroll processing during the Workday implementation in October 2015, with validation and parallel runs performed to ensure data integrity between systems.
Configuration work concentrated on tax compliance workflows and reporting, while payroll processing remained operationally executed through Workday for semi-monthly US Domestic and US Expat payrolls. Tableau used Workday Report Writer to create new audits and on demand payroll reports, and ADP SmartCompliance was used to track compliance exceptions and support state tax application processes for multi-jurisdiction Blackline payroll. New processes and procedures were created and documented to formalize the compliance and reporting posture.
Integrations were explicitly operated from Workday to multiple payroll and employment verification vendors, including ADP, Fidelity, and TheWorkNumber, and coordination extended to upstream HR and expense systems such as Oracle HR and Concur. Timekeeping reporting and weekly reminders were issued to ADP SmartCompliance non compliant employees, and integrations fed payroll tax and verification feeds into the compliance engine.
Governance centered on structured control reporting and in person review, with reasonability and SOX control reporting prepared each payroll for review by the Controller and Payroll Manager. Operational ownership included responding to employee Workday Report Writing payroll queries with support from a Payroll Specialist, executing semi monthly payroll cycles, and maintaining documented processes for recurring compliance tasks.
