| Sage | Legacy | Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90 & MAS 200) | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Taco John's deployed Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90 & MAS 200) as its ERP Financial system to support corporate accounting and restaurant financial operations. The implementation covered the corporation plus five company restaurants, Taco John's Foundation, and six advertising and marketing cooperatives, establishing Sage 100 as the central financial application for accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end close workflows.
Sage 100 was used to operationalize core ERP Financial modules, including weekly accounts payable processing, general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, month-end and year-end journal entries, and corrective journal workflows. The implementation also managed fixed asset accounting, depreciation, acquisition and disposition reconciliation, inventory transfers and cost of sales accounting, and reconciliation of prepaid liability accounts such as liability insurance, workers compensation, and property taxes.
The Sage 100 deployment operated alongside and was integrated with a set of operational applications, including Asset Keeper Pro for fixed asset records, Timeforce for timekeeping, QuikServe for point of sale data, FranConnect for franchise operations, and Dropbox for document exchange and storage. These integrations supported end-to-end financial processes by feeding transactional data and supporting documentation into Sage 100 for reconciliation and reporting.
Governance and process changes focused on high-volume, repeatable workflows, with weekly AP cycles for corporate expenditures and multi-entity restaurant settlements, monthly reporting and close of restaurant sales and sales tax, and structured reconciliations across banks, journals, promotions and discounts, inventory movements, and administrative fee allocations. The implementation emphasized disciplined month-end and year-end execution within Sage 100 to maintain consolidated financial records across the corporate, restaurant, foundation, and cooperative entities.
