Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2016 2017
In 2016, Taiga Building Products implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system to centralize finance and distribution accounting functions for the Canadian distributor. The implementation targeted corporate finance and branch accounting workflows across a multi-site footprint, supporting more than 15 locations in eastern Canada and a centralized finance team based in Vancouver. The Microsoft Dynamics GP deployment focused on core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, year-end accounting, and branch accounting controls. Configuration emphasized full cycle accounting capabilities such as journal entry processing, cheque runs and deposit processing, periodic close procedures, and inventory reconciliation workflows to support regular audits. Operational workflows incorporated co-use of Bistrack for inventory operations, with Microsoft Dynamics GP serving as the ERP Financial ledger for inventory valuation and audit reconciliation. Dynamics GP was used to process vendor invoices for 50 plus suppliers, reconcile multiple bank statements and manage cash balances in excess of CAD 10 million, and to record transactions that fed periodic statements and budget forecasts. Governance and process changes included centralized oversight of branch accounting, cross-functional collaboration with auditors, the controller and senior financial analysts to drive timely annual audit completion, and standardized accounts payable and vendor communication procedures. The system supported on-site finance activities in Vancouver and operational accounting across branches, enabling structured workflows for month end and year end close without reference to prior platform names.

ADP Legacy ADP Workforce Now Core HR HCM n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 Taiga Building Products implemented ADP Workforce Now for Core HR. The deployment focused on centralizing human resources and benefits administration for the company’s Canadian workforce, supporting HR and Benefits Administrator activities from December 2017 into April 2018. Taiga used ADP Workforce Now as the primary HRIS for employee lifecycle tasks including onboarding, offer administration, and personnel data management. ADP Workforce Now was configured to manage benefits enrollment and administration, employee setup, and to support payroll processing as a backup function for both hourly and salaried workers. Functional capabilities implemented included benefits billing and financial reporting workflows for RRSP contributions and MSP, annual bonus administration, and onboarding checklists to ensure paperwork completion. These modules were used to coordinate hiring needs with managers and to create and record offer packages in the HR system. The implementation included operational coordination with the benefits provider IA Financial to ensure plans were managed accurately and issues were resolved promptly, reflecting an integration point between ADP Workforce Now benefits records and external vendor administration. Operational coverage was primarily the HR department and all Canadian employees, with HR personnel maintaining monthly billing and financial reconciliation for benefits. ADP Workforce Now served as the system of record for employee records and benefits data in this context. Governance and process changes centered on maintaining open communication between HR, hiring managers, and the benefits vendor, and assigning HR staff as payroll backup to sustain continuity for payroll and bonus administration. The HR team used ADP Workforce Now workflows to standardize onboarding, confirm paperwork completeness, and provide a single place to answer HR related questions and escalate employee issues. The deployment emphasized operational ownership inside HR rather than reliance on external implementation partners.
