In 2024 Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council implemented Voicescape Collections to automate Council Tax outreach within its finance, revenues and benefits function. The deployment used Voicescape Collections under the Customer Engagement,Customer Analytics category to run targeted pre-final notice, pre-summons and historic debt campaigns across council tax accounts.
The implementation configured automated outbound voice campaigns, campaign scheduling and message workflow controls to drive resident outreach and campaign segmentation for historic debt, pre-final notice and pre-summons cohorts. Voicescape Collections was used to execute approximately 37,000 automated calls as part of these campaign types and to centralize campaign orchestration and reporting for the revenues team.
Rollout began in February 2024 and the service was fully operational by April 2024, covering Council Tax activity for Tameside within the United Kingdom. Operational coverage focused on the finance and revenue area, with the platform handling routine outreach and enabling staff to concentrate on complex cases.
Governance changes emphasized campaign-based workflows and centralized orchestration of resident communications, reducing manual outreach effort. Outcomes stated by the council include £849,647 collected, postage savings of approximately £7,474 and staff capacity freed to manage complex collections work.
