| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business One | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, Taoglas implemented SAP Business One as its core ERP Financial system. The implementation established SAP Business One as the primary transactional backbone supporting manufacturing, inventory and financial processes across Taoglas’s nine global locations and its head office in San Diego, with the majority of manufacturing staff located in Taiwan.
SAP Business One has been maintained as a mature, company-wide application for over ten years, and the deployment includes the standard SAP client and mobile app, with a planned rollout of the web client for purchasing. Functional extensions in use include Produmex Scan for warehouse scanning, and Boyum B1 Usability Package and Print & Delivery to automate usability and document distribution workflows, enhancing procurement to fulfillment processes.
Taoglas runs SAP Business One on a dedicated Ascarii environment hosted on AWS following a move to Ascarii’s AWS cloud platform in August 2022, and the cloud instance has been live for over a year. The production architecture leverages an up-to-date AWS environment and AWS Global Accelerator to reduce latency between distributed sites, and the deployment aligns with Taoglas’s ISO 27001 security posture and scalability requirements.
Operational governance has shifted to a support model with Ascarii, including SLA-driven ticket response, proactive operational alerts, and the ability to rapidly provision or uplift instances as needed. Reported outcomes include higher system stability and responsiveness, reduced internal technical headcount due to outsourced cloud operations, cost alignment through consumption-based resource provisioning, and improved user productivity with the ability to run multiple concurrent SAP Business One sessions.

In 2017, Taoglas implemented Zendesk Chat on their website to provide real-time customer engagement and on-site support. The deployment of Zendesk Chat is framed within the Chatbots and Conversational AI category, positioning the application as the primary web chat entry point for incoming customer and prospect conversations.
The implementation centered on a web chat widget and agent console configuration, including proactive chat triggers, pre-chat capture fields, canned responses, and conversation transcripts to support synchronous handling. Zendesk Chat was configured to capture visitor context and chat history for agent use, and the setup included transcript retention and basic analytics for conversation volume and routing behaviors.
Operational coverage focused on customer-facing functions, with the solution used to handle inbound technical support inquiries and pre-sales qualification across Taoglas product lines. The deployment was scoped to the company website and integrated into existing web pages so agents could engage visitors in real time, reducing friction in the customer contact path and centralizing chat interactions under a single conversational interface.
Governance and workflow changes included establishing chat handling responsibilities, escalation paths to asynchronous support channels, and agent training on chat protocols and knowledge base referencing. Administration of Zendesk Chat centered on queue management, agent availability rules, and periodic review of canned responses and trigger rules to align conversation flows with Taoglas support processes.
