In 2023, TE Connectivity USA synchronized SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a broader SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central rollout under the SAP Upgrade2Success program to advance its global HCM cloud footprint. The initiative targeted 65 countries and 10 languages, and was scoped to enable global employee and manager self service and to underpin HR shared service centers in locations including the U.S., China, India, Mexico, Brazil, and the Netherlands. TE Connectivity USA synchronized SAP SuccessFactors Compensation in the Compensation Management category to support global compensation administration and HR pay processes.
The implementation work included Employee Central as the core HR cloud product, the deployment of Onboarding, and the alignment of Employee Central data fields with existing SAP SuccessFactors modules such as Performance and Goals, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, and Succession and Development. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation configuration was kept minimal, reflecting TE�s status as a long standing SAP SuccessFactors customer, while HRIZONS provided services and solution consulting to map data elements and validate compensation workflows and approvals. Employee Central Service Center functionality was also deployed to establish the HR shared services operating model across multiple international transaction centers.
Architecturally the program used a full data replication strategy from Employee Central to SAP HCM on premise to preserve connectivity with more than 200 downstream integrations to third party HCM applications, keeping those integrations operational during the cloud transition. This data replication layer decoupled the cloud go live from the immediate migration of downstream integrations, enabling a phased integration migration approach while maintaining end to end transactional continuity. The replication approach and integration retention became a critical design decision to reduce project complexity and timing risk.
Governance and rollout were structured around an aggressive nine month timeline and a phased migration plan, with HRIZONS working as the SAP SuccessFactors services partner to align technical design with HR operating model objectives. The program emphasized standardization of transactional processes, automation where feasible, and migration of Employee Central master data to synchronize compensation workflows, with a second phase planned to sequentially migrate downstream integrations.
